Teaching/Public Speaking

I teach all over the United States on a variety of topics.

I love to speak at Film Festivals and to Writers Groups and have just secured a talent manager to speak as a humorist at colleges and universities. My PowerNetworking workshop is one of Learning Annex’s most popular classes and I am a favorite visiting teacher at the LA Film School. I have taught at Learning Tree University (both in Los Angeles and in Orange County). I’ve lectured or sat on panels at the Moondance Int’l Film Festival, Slamdance (fireside chat), The American Screenwriters’ Selling to Hollywood Conference, the Vail Film Festival, the Austin Film Festival, the Temecula Film Festival, the Northwest Writers Group (in Seattle), The Willamette Writers Conference, the Great American Pitch Fest (Luncheon Keynote Speaker), the Tucson Mystery Writers Association and have worked with screenwriters around the world (most notably teaching the Kingman Screenwriting Lab alongside Jim S. Hart and Frank Pierson, the President of the Academy of Motion Pictures).

I also teach a two-week, 24-hour course on Writing Business Plans for the Entertainment Industry for Cinema Arts Tech Vocational School
